Trip Advisor. Mt Barney is not listed on any tourist map. For a reason. . . . it is for the discerning traveler who wishes to experience a mountain escape without the hordes and to get there, requires a 4WD.
Owner Ben Barton and his friends have built over the years a wonderful place to stay, to enjoy the beauty of the area and meet people from around the world who appreciate such spots. It is a place not designed for the masses.
TRAVEL UPDATE: My sincere apologies but I'm afraid we will not be able to accommodate you. With a very dry winter our tank rainwater situation is dire, and we are moving into another drought situation. So, there is also the worry of uncontrolled fires. Since the devastating bushfires of October 2019 this is a constant concern for us, and we would not like to place you and your family at risk. Consequently, we will be closed over the summer months. Hopefully you will understand our concerns and we would love to accommodate you and your family once we’ve had some decent rainfall.
